~A Welcome To May~

May Baskets

Let us take our baskets early
To the meadows green,
While the wild-flowers still are pearly
With the dewdrops’ sheen.

Fill them full of blossoms rosy,
Violets and gay
Cowslips, every pretty posy
Welcoming the May.

Then our lovely loads we’ll carry
Down the village street,
On each door, with laughter merry,
Hang a basket sweet.

Hey-a-day-day!
It is spring now,
Lazy folks, awake!
See the pretty things we bring now
For the May-day’s sake!

  10. HI Susan all your family photos are so wonderful. I am sure you're enjoying your grandson, as I am mine. May has been a beautiful month in Placer County CA though the last few days have been a bit to hot for me. I hope you're getting out and having some wonderful spring days. I have moved my blog to www.shinymoonbeams.com
I have to read up on your past post to see what's going on in your life. What a lovely poem you shared on May 1st that almost seems so long ago now as today is already May 9th. Where does the time go? have a wonderful week! Hugs
